\par \par \par Every valley shall be raised up \par \parHe is coming \par \parThe mountains made low \par \parHallelujah \par \parThe ground shall be levelled \par \parHe is coming \par \parHe who is coming will come and won't delay \par \parHallelujah \par \parAnd those who believe in him will be rescued \par \parFor he is coming \par \parHallelujah \par \par\par Two millennia have passed \par \parHe is coming \par \parSince the birth of our Christ \par \parHallelujah \par \parDays passing into dust \par \parHe is coming \par \parAwaiting his return \par \parHallelujah \par \parWe need to persevere \par \parDoing all his will \par \parHe is coming \par \parWe live in hope to receive \par \parThe blessings of his word \par \parHallelujah \par \par\par In omnia tenebamus \par \parDum Dominus nobiscum est \par \parLet these words precede us \par \parAs we make manifest our pledge \par \parIn omnia tenebo \par \parDum Dominus mecum est \par \parThe Messiah is my protector \par \parIn whom by life will be forever blessed \par \par\par We are not of those who shrink back \par \parWho falter and are destroyed \par \parHe is coming \par \parWe will join the nations \par \parCradled in his hands \par \parHallelujah \par \parReady to give to the one who gave all \par \parHe is coming \par \parThe Alpha and Omega calling us at last \par \parHe is coming... hallelujah \par \par\par \par In omnia tenebamus \par \parDum Dominus nobiscum est \par \parLet these words precede us \par \parAs we make manifest our pledge \par \parIn omnia tenebo \par \parDum Dominus mecum est \par \parThe Messiah is my protector \par \parIn whom by life will be forever blessed \par \par\par No-one knows the day or the hour \par \parThat he is coming \par \parNo-one knows but our father in heaven \par \parBut we will stand and wait by the door for the Lord \par \parFor soon he'll be coming \par \parReady to judge both the quick and the dead \par \parHallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah \par \parHallelujah, Amen, hallelujah \par \par\par The words of "Hymn for the Millennium" have been drawn from Isaiah Chapter 40, Mark 13,\par Hebrews 10 and Revelations 1, 20 and 22. In the lyric there is no intention to suggest that the\par second coming will be at the time of the ending of the second millennium AD rather saying\par that this event may be akin to the metaphor of the Holy Grail happening in the human heart\par with every rebirth and that Heaven can be created on Earth through the act of living in the way\par God intended. This concurs with Christ's own assertion that he will never leave us and that he\par has replaced the tablets of stone given to Moses with a new covenant imprinted on our hearts. \par \par\par © Stefan Lewis-Fish (8th November 1998) \par\par \par |
