TO ALL CLUB SECRETARIES

CIRCULAR NO 1 – 2007/2008

1. Please note rule change approved at the recent AGM:-

Rule 24 Delete entire rule and replace with the following:

(a) A club shall register not less than three players for each team entered, not later than the first day of August prior to the winter season. Registration forms shall be forwarded to the Association Treasurer.
(b) Player fees, any outstanding fines, and any additional documentation required by BDTTA, YTTA or ETTA shall be forwarded to the Association Treasurer to arrive no later than the date of the Special General Meeting held prior to the winter season.
(c) Failure to comply with the requirements outlined in (a) and (b) above may result in a deduction of up to twenty points from each team representing the offending club in the forthcoming season, at the discretion of the Management Committee.

2. For the benefit of those who did not attend the AGM, your team registration documents, player registration documents, and individual registration documents have already been forwarded to you under separate cover. You will have individual registration documents in respect of each player who completed one last season, plus a blank which should be photocopied and used in respect of all other players.

For the avoidance of doubt, can I clarify the registration procedure for the forthcoming season:

(a) Team entries and fees, together with the names of at least three players to be registered for each team, to be with Brian Hall by 1st August.
(b) Complete player registration forms, together with fees and an individual registration form. Completed and signed by each registered player, to be with Brian by 10th September.

We really do not want to have to deduct points because of non-compliance, but in some cases we are getting desperate.

3. Please note that the Special General Meeting prior to the 2007/8 season will be held at West Bradford Golf Club on Monday, 10th September 2007 at 7:30pm. This is, of course, the ideal opportunity for handing your player/individual registration forms and fees to our Treasurer, prior to receiving your handbooks.

Can I remind you that each club must be represented at the SGM, or pay a £10 fine (Rule 23). In view of the very poor attendance at the AGM it may be that a rule change proposal is submitted prior to the SGM with a view to increasing the fine.

4. Thank you to those who supported the Social/Presentation Evening on June 9th. The attendance this year was good, and we were able to show a modest profit. As ever, thank you also to Sandra for organising this event.

5. I am sorry to have to advise you that Eric Hill is now in the Marie Curie Hospice, Off Leeds Road in Bradford. Latest reports say that he is ‘quite chirpy’, but clearly there have to be some concerns for his health. I understand also that he has celebrated his 80th birthday in the last few days.
