Autumn Equinox
21st September

The Autumn Equinox is the point of balance in the waning year. It is the late harvest - of fruit & berries in the hedgerows. It is the time to thank the mother Goddess for bounty and abundance received gratefully and stored for times of want during the coming winter months. From now on the power of the Sun will recede as its shadow describes an anticlockwise spiral, returning to the womb/tomb.

It is both a time of storage, and time to begin a process of assessment and reflection on what knowledge has been gained during the bright period of the sun's zenith. The illustration shows the Labyrinth in Rocky Valley, near Tintagel, cornwall. It is a spiral dance - a journey of life wisdom and experience offering everyone the chance to return to the Centre and renew.
