After the complexity of the 1.5litre V16 BRM went to the other extreme with this 2.5litre straight fout unit. The power unit gave BRM its first win at the highest level.

P258 won the 1959 Dutch GP at Zandvoort with Joakim Bonnier at the wheel. The triumph was the BRM's first World Championship win and the only one for their front engined cars.
