Description of Northern Livery (version 2)

Northern Rail took several attempts before deciding on a final livery for their train fleet.

Newton Heath unit 156.425 appeared in the second version of Northern livery in January 2005 when it was outshopped from Doncaster Wabtec after a C6 overhaul.

156.460 and 464 were also painted in this style in the following months.

This saw the lilac and white areas in reverse of those used on the first version on 156.451.

A third version of Northern livery appeared in May 2005.
