By Car:

From Heathrow Airport Concorde Roundabout go straight on (signposted Central London M4).  At roundabout take 1st exit (signposted The West).  At next roundabout take 1st exit (signposted The West) to join M4 Junction 4b (M25).  Branch left (signposted Gatwick M23) then keep left to join M25, stay on M25 past junction 12 (M3) signposted to Gatwick, stay on M25 past junction 7 (M23) signposted to Dartford, 3 miles after Clacket Lane Service area take right-hand lanes, under bridge then bear left (signposted Hastings A21), leave motorway and stay on A21, after 9 miles branch left (signposted Tunbridge Wells) to join A26, stay on A26 into and through Tunbridge Wells, then follow the directions from Tunbridge Wells (below).

From M25 Junction 5, join the A21 (signposted Hastings A21).  Stay on A21, after 9 miles branch left (signposted Tunbridge Wells) to join A26, stay on A26 into and through Tunbridge Wells, then follow the directions from Tunbridge Wells (below).

From Tunbridge Wells, head south on the A26 straight over a roundabout past Sainsbury's on the left, past a petrol station on the left, then slow down for the camera, stay on the A26 ignoring the signs to Groombridge on the right, through Eridge Green and past the pub on the right, then go down the hill and turn right where it is sign posted to Eridge Station, then turn left before the station (after grass triangle) onto country lane, continue for nearly 2 miles until you go up a hill arched by trees to the end of the lane where you turn left to Motts Mill, stay on this lane through a sharp right bend, down a steep corner (with cottages on left and right), continue up hill until you see a driveway/track on the right signposted Merlins Gate (see picture below).  Turn into the driveway going back on yourself.  Motts Mill Cottage is the first white cottage on the left (see picture below).

From Crowborough town centre travel past Threshers on your left towards Lye Green.  Stay on this road through Lye Green and past the garden centre on your right.  At the T junction turn right on to the B2188.  Take the next right sign posted to Motts Mill.  On the country lane continue round the sharp right bend, down the hill arched by trees, past the black 'chocolate box' cottage on your left, just after the next white cottage on your left turn left into the driveway / track signposted Merlins Gate (see picture below).  Motts Mill Cottage is the first white cottage on the left.

By Train:

The nearest main line train station is Eridge which is only 2 miles away from the house.  Trains run 7 days a week on the London to Uckfield line.  Trains go from London Bridge or London Victoria.  Journey time is about 1 hour and you may need to change at East Croyden and/or Oxted.  See a route map and timetable at www.southcentraltrains.co.uk

Alternatively travel to Tunbridge Wells mainline station which has a more regular service and is only 6 miles from the house.  Trains go from London Charing Cross or the South coast.
