Magic Knight Rayearth follows three junior high school girls Hikaru, Umi and Fuu, as they are summoned to another world called Cephiro, by Princess Emeraude the pillar of Cephiro. She asks the three girls to become the Magic Knights and save Cephiro.
The story of this series is well grounded and has depth, the plot and the characters grow throughout the series, however it can be predictable at some points but there is an interesting twist at the end.The animation in this series is genrally good and very well done, there is a lot of super deformity during the first few discs but this becomes less as the series progresses until disc five when there is no super deformity at all. The audio is good but at some points the dub makes Hikaru sound like the stereotypical cheerleader but other than that I have no quarrels with the sound quality. The packaging is excellent with each disc having different cover art on its keep case and the box having nice embossed logos and an embossed image of Hikaru on the side, it is a little difficult to open and get the discs out of but it is nice packaging.
This is an excellent series and an excellent set plus everyone loves getting an entire season in a set.
