Crash Bang Wallop

The 2000 season of Home and Away has left viewers eagerly anticipating the 'relationship' between Gypsy Nash (Kimberley Cooper) and Charlie . Charlie charmed his way into Gypsy's affection leaving Gypsy one confused girl. She really loves Will, but Charlie is hard to resist...

It seems as if luck has finally run out for Summer Bay's favourite good-time girl. We checked in with Kimberley to see how her character Gyspy Nash is coping with the recent traumatic events in Summer Bay.

What attracted Gypsy to Charlie in the first place. In light of the car accident, does Gypsy wish that she'd never laid eyes on Charlie?

'The fact that he's a little bit older, a little bit more intellectual, a little bit more...rich. We are saying a man of the world, that she hasn't seen in Summer Bay before.'

I'd say no. I'd say that Gypsy would blame that on her mum. Because she saw Natalie and Glen together and she took off in a huff because of that.

Does Gypsy gain her memory back and will she be sympathetic toward Nat's two timing?

Yes she does eventually get her memory back. Oh no, no sympathy, none. Because Gypsy's not getting any sympathy!

Gypsy's losing friends…and fast. Joel is holding Peta and Justine responsible for Gypsy's accident and Will despises her. Do you think this is a bit of a reality check for Gypsy?

'Oh yeah!'

A new Gypsy?

'Maybe - Gypsy's character/her personality is so full on that I don't know whether she'll bring it back completely...Yeah but I think that it might give her a kick in the right direction.'

Your characters been through an emotional rollercoaster, has this carried over into your your personal life?

'No. It was fun, fairly challenging and very tiring, but it was lots of fun.'

Assuming that Gypsy is still in love with Will - she must be devastated at the moment. Do you think that Will can ever forgive Gypsy for two-timing?

'Yes, she always will be in love with Will.'

'I think that Will can forgive her, but I don't know if he'll ever forget. You'll have to wait and see. There's a line you can draw between forgiving and really going back out. So I think they'll become friends but I don't think that they'll ever be back at the stage they were at .'

How long does it take Gypsy to get over the trauma of Charlie's death and the abandonment of her friends?

A fair while. It's not just the car accident it's the emotional upheaval, it's everything. Summer Bay's not a little ray of light anymore for Gypsy.
