The other side of KimWe know Gypsy Nash inside out, but what about the real Kim Cooper? Hanging out with Kim at her favourite store, the Skull Club, is a great way to get to know her personal side. ‘I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s certainly mine.’ Kim tells us a bit more about herself, things that you might not know, sharing her thoughts on fashion, inspiration, relationships and what’s important to her. The store is a collaboration of different people’s work, including art, writing on the wall, fashion and more. Kim explains, ‘It’s not normal. It’s not what everybody likes - it’s something different.’ As Kim chooses some unique designs to try on it’s understandable why she likes the store so much. ‘I guess I find artistic expression with my fashion,’ Kim reflects. ‘I don’t think my fashion is for a lot of people. Then again, other people’s fashion isn’t for me. I don’t judge them and I hope they don’t judge me.’ Kim adds the words ‘express yourself’ on the wall in chalk, saying, ‘I think it’s important for people to express who they are.’ In Kim’s opinion Gypsy’s wardrobe is ‘kind of conservative but still nice. Not really for me, though’. Kim is clearly not too similar to her character Gypsy. ‘When I was 12 my mother used to say I was 12 going on 40. Now I’m turning 21 and I think I’m just starting to figure out who I am and who other people are.’ What inspires her? What does Kim look for in a relationship? ‘Not having one - yet!’ Kim exclaims. ‘I’m looking for someone who can make me laugh.’ And what about Kim’s philosophy on life? ‘I’m trying to live every moment as much as possible.’ Kim certainly has achieved a lot at 20, so it’ s no wonder that she’s happy with her life. ‘I don’t want to be anybody else right now.’ |
