Summer Bay ShowdownThe Summer Bay of old would remember the fury of Morag, aka Cornelia Francis. But the latter years have never come face to face with Alf’s flamin’ sister, and we’re sure they’d never want to. Especially after some of the comments Cornelia delivered to our beloved stars and their television colleagues. However, three of Summer Bay’s favourites put aside their friendships, donned their emotional armour and battled it out with other Channel Seven celebrities for the title of the strongest link in the name of charity. Ada Nicodemou, Kimberley Cooper and Ryan Kwanten bravely faced Cornelia’s verbal firing line and proved that snide comments were just as easy to dish out - even if it was to each other. Ouch! Even Cornelia offered a ‘saucer of milk for Gypsy’. Luckily this was water off a duck’s back for Ada, who said it was a Kim-like comment.
While Cornelia commented on the Mole-like sabotage of the $10,000 mission and asked each member if they wished ‘they’d told their agent they were busy tonight’, Ada was still able to com up with a nutty remark or two before her walk of shame. One by one the celebrities dropped and, unfortunately, Ryan Kwanten was the first Summer Bay resident to depart. Backstage, Ryan commented on the tactics being used and felt it was a Home and Away versus All Saints war. And what a battle it was! After Ada’s journey ended, Kimberley was left standing with the boys. Daunted she may have been, but this didn’t stop her from waging war with Ben Tari (All Saints), Scott McGregor (Room for Improvement) and Michael Caton (Hot Auctions). Even though Kim managed to bank some cash, the boys ganged up on her and voted her off. She left with her head held high, ‘happy to be the last girl standing’. ‘My lines are normally written for me,’ she said as she commented on her excuse for being voted off. While nobody from Summer Bay did a dash with some cash, the winner of the night was Amnesty International. The grand sum of $22 600 was won by the night’s strongest link, Scott McGregor from Seven’s Room for Improvement. Oh well, we guess you can’t win ’em all! |
