| Ice Ages | This is the real Day after Tomorrow and you're all about to die! It's estimated that ice ages hit planet earth approximately every 10,000 years, causing glaciers and snowdrifts hundreds of feet high. This isn't in doubt. Samples taken by the scientific community, from the polar ice caps in antartica and other frozen regions confirm this to be true. |

Could asteroids cause ice ages? Maybe more important than in-coming asteroids, is the question as to what causes ice ages? It's a subject which tends to get overlooked. During the last ice age, Scotland was a galcier. Temperatures can drop to -200c and quite simple next to no living thing can survive. Science currently speculates these periodic events are caused by vocanoes, or volcanic activity. I remain doubtful. |

As it's been about 10,000 years since the last ice age, we should be due for the next one at any minute: perhaps within the next one hundred years. With this in mind, we should be painfully aware, nothing will escape the big freeze about to hit us. Anywhere upto 99% of all living creatures will perish in the frozen wastes. Look at the lack of life in antartica at the moment, and apply that scenario to the whole world. It makes you think!Iceage 1
