| Mad Cow Disease |  Mad cow disease, bse, cjd is only in its initial stages, your kids will unknowingly contract this deadly illness through milk formula. It would be easy to deal in sensational media headlines as newspapers and television around the world has done; primarily scapegoating and casting aspersions through ignorance and simple observation.
But as we`ve come to learn through universaltheories.com, observation isn`t always as straightforward as it might otherwise be.
Therefore with that prurient scaremongering out of the way - let`s concentrate on something that needs an immediate investigation. And in saying that, can I briefly digress and say to goverments, you should hang your heads in shame at the lack of resources available to scientific institutions around the world - in your pursuit of tax cuts for re-election. Shame on you!
As mentioned in the title `a bridging factor` has been identified by us here at universaltheories, where a piece of outstanding theory led me to believe a simple transmission route was not enough to establish a link between mad cow disease and the human varient cjd.
We know sheep carry scrapie which is remarkably similar to bse but does not have the potential to cross over the species barrier - so I naturally commenced looking for a common denominator in the equation and was shocked when I hit on the idea of expanding Darwinian evolution.
Basically we decided to throw theory around concerning the emergance of one species transforming into another. A wild idea that first was treated with banter, my usual black sense of humour, then alarm as it gathered pace and accelerated momentum. Could genetic factors hold an insight to this unique illness? It seemed inconceivable at first, but then as the warning bells began to ring - I considered it essential to place my findings in the public domain; for although the theory is just that at the moment, I believe now we`ve honed and adapted it - it has become a factor for further investigation.
What we said was this: if milk from a mother carrys certain genetic code allowing children to build a resistance and immunity to certain illness and disease - can children raised on formula, milk derivative from cow`s milk start to imprint a bovine generic code in the human genome? What d`you think?
I decided, rather rebelliously, it might. Although, as I say it is still hypothetical at this stage. But what we should remember is this. If raising human children on cow`s milk through formula enables a change in the human genome - and it only needs to be a subtle change, then the human body, and genetic make-up will start to identify the cow as part of itself. The generic code assumes a principle of cannnibalism enters the equation at that point.
And if this is the case and generic change is underway, regardless of how small that initial change might be, then all beef consumption must have a question make placed over it. For even non-infected meat may have the potential one day to create cjd. A frightening prospect.
Therefore, natuarally we implore government and science to help push this methodology forwards - even if only to dismiss my hypothesis as hokum. The need for more resources within the scientific community is urgent beyond the point of belief, and only a concerted effort from all of us might prevent what could be a horrendous nightmare for everyone. Why not join that intellectual element of society and e-mail your local government department or representive and express the need for more research, before we all pay the ultimate price!
