All herbs sold by the sachet (about 1½ heaped tablespoons), or half sachet if required - we recommend buying Dragon’s Blood by the half-sachet, as it’s not stuff you want to leave lying around.

Cinquefoil
(Five-Finger Grass)

Strictly speaking five-finger grass is usually Potentilla reptans, but I was unable to find any source for this. Ours is the related species Potentilla erecta (tormentil or septfoil), which was as close as I could get it. This species is also sometimes called five-finger grass, and is close enough to P. reptans to hybridize with it.

Mandrake
(Mandragora)

We sell mandrake as an ingredient in spells, not to be taken internally. However, we are aware that it does have medicinal uses, and that some people will try taking it even if we tell them not to.

According to our supplier, the medicinal dose is 1 or 2 American cups per day of the liquid obtained by boiling a teaspoonful of mandrake root for 5-15 minutes in a pint of boiling water. This is a maximum and it would be advizable to start with half that.

Larger doses will cause violent diarrhoea, and may even kill you. Mandrake must NEVER be taken internally by anyone who is or might be pregnant, as it can cause birth defects.

On no account leave this stuff anywhere where children or pets could get at it.
