Deals with the long-term history of his abuse, his feelings about it, his explanation of the charges against him, the court-case and his reasons for pleading guilty. Appeared in The Scotsman on 30th June 1995 and The Herald on 17th August 1996.
This interview, Eric's last, concentrates mainly on the abuse he suffered, his own innocence of any perversion, and on his determination to testify against his abusers. It appeared on 30th August 1996, two weeks after his death.
Concentrates on Eric's feelings about the people and events of his life - the emotional trauma of the abuse; the euphoria of feeling popular and loved as Wee Burney; his love for and gratitude towards his family and friends. Appeared first in a 30-minute version on 8th February 1996 and then in an extended 45-minute version on 7th May 1996.
