MATHS SHOWS


DURATION Gerry can spend the whole day in your school presenting several science     educational shows for all ages.

"Do you know where we can book a Science Show or a Science Entertainer? " teachers asked.

While presenting  maths shows for maths weeks throughout the UK, Gerry found this question raised many many times. " Do you provide a similar show for Science Week?" Well now he does!!!

Presenter Gerry Walker BSc PGCE is an experienced primary teacher/maths and science coordinator, children's entertainer and magician. He has combined these skills to provide innovative presentations in both science and maths. An interactive science show or workshop is ideal for a focused science week from an honours graduate in Science.

SCIENCE FUN

Gerry says " Although I have been presenting the Maths very successfully in schools in England and Wales, I always wanted to do a fun Science Show. My degree was in science so it is something that has always fascinated me. I wanted to bring that sense of wonderment and fun to school children. It had to be interactive. Most importantly it had to make them think, to want to find out how things work and have a go themselves. I wanted it to use simple items that children could access. I wanted them to be inspired, to go home and want to show their parents.

STAFF MEETINGS
Gerry can provide an after school follow up session for teachers, full of practical ideas for science activities. He is  available as a provider for day courses.               MATHS & SCIENCE COMBINED
Gerry is happy to provide both maths and Science shows in a single day. Teachers can also have sessions in both. Ideal for a training day or half day.

With this in mind I created  a Science Fun Show.

"How can you remove a nut from a bolt without touching it?"

"How does the mouse run along the wooden rod, turn round and run back with no apparent support or mechanism?"

" How can you defy gravity with a bunch of keys?"

THE INTERACTIVE SCIENCE ENTERTAINMENT WILL ANSWER THESE AND MANY OTHER FASCINATING QUESTIONS

The Science Behind the Fun

The show consist of a selection of puzzles, challenges, tricks etc all designed to motivate and intrigue your pupils. The format is question answer and uses various children to try out the items.

The scientific explanations are discussed to different levels and using appropriate vocabulary depending on the age group.

Concepts of Forces, Energy, Light, Materials etc are covered as Gerry takes the children on an entertaining journey through the magical world of science.

Visits to Science Centres and events include organising transport, insurance cover, staff cover, permission slips, lunch supervision, loss of teaching time etc. Transport costs are no longer cheap. Save money and hassle by booking a professional science graduate and entertainer into your school.
